Saturday only - There will be a Skate Competition beginning at 11 am at Marina Skate Park as part of the Festival again this year. This event will be a fundraiser for the Marina Skate Team for funds to attend the U.S. National Championships, to be held August 1, 2011 in San Diego, and will represent the State of California as the Junior Olympic Gold Medal State Champions. The team qualified for Nationals and is currently rated first in the State in the Nor Cal California Amateur Skate League and the California Amateur Skate League National Skate Federation. Activities at the Skate Park will benefit the team. Donations are welcome and accepted. Sponsored by the City of Marina and On the Beach Surf Shop. |

Freeman Field, 1st Street and General Jim Moore Blvd adjacent to CSUMB Saturday only - The City of Marina Recreation & Cultural Services Department, in partnership with Big Sur International Marathon Just Run, brings to you Just Run! Just Kids -Check-In at 8:30 a.m. / Races start at 9:00 a.m. This running event is open to all area boys and girls ages 5 thru 12 years of age. Every participant will receive a tee-shirt and a souvenir medal. Individual awards will be given out to the top three in each race! Also during the races, the Los Arboles Middle School “Falcon Run” Relay Championship. |
